My brother has a pitt and he is a marshmallow. Sweetest dog I know but I am still careful around him. One of my good friends had a very sweet pitt too or so I thought. One day she bent down to kiss him on the head to say good bye as she always did and he attacked her. Ripped half her face off and her eye was almost out. She had to run into the bathroom because the dog wanted to attack her more. The police had to come in and shoot the dog. This whole thing was so heartbreaking. She needed like 30 surgeries to fix her face. It is still not perfect. Now she is scared to death of all dogs.

It shows the picture of the dog and the address it resides at that was involved in a dog attack. If you go down the list, 90% of the dogs are pitt or pitt mixes followed by rotties. Yeah, once in a while at the end of the list, you will see a tiny lone chi. Not much of a threat there. My son, being in the vet business, has been bitten by most dogs at one time or the other even with extreme precautions. The only bite that put him in the hospital for surgery was from a Pitt. They had to euthanize the dog to get it to release his arm from its jaws. He owned a Rottie, which he had to put down himself after it bit his stepson. No thank you. In fact, Chihuahuas are more likely to bite a person. Unfortunately, when a Pitt does bite someone it does a LOT more damage because of their strong, muscular bodies and jaws. I work with a lot of Pitts at a shelter I volunteer for. They can be sweet as sugar but I just can't let myself trust them. Stupid, I know.
