I buy it in a can. You need to make sure that it is not pumpkin pie mix because that has spices and other things...the can will say PURE PUMPKIN. I bought a bunch right after Christmas last year in fear that they would not be selling it during the year. One small can (like a can of peas) made over 70 1` tsp portions. I have some very cute ice cube trays that have tiny holes and the latex at the bottom to push them out. Then after they are frozen in the ice cube trays (and I guess you could use a dish or pan lined with aluminum foil or waxed paper) then I put them into a freezer-safe plastic container. Then you just need to take one out every day and give it to your pup. Desi and my neighbor's dog, Mandy, will both eat it just as I give it to them. Dolly is a free feeder and many times very picky. She didn't eat hers for two days, so I bought a short can of chicken and rice food at the grocery store yesterday put a little of it in a bowl then added one ball of pumpkin and a little pedialyte...she ate all of that right up.
