Ann, Did he fall off the bed or was he jumping on and off the bed??? I have a deer chi and she is always jumping on and off the bed BUT now we are working out of town and are in a motel and the beds are 'higher' than ours. I had to take her to the Vet Hospital and they said that she had Neurological spine separation and that it happens a lot in small dogs. We are to keep her quiet (lots of luck with that) and they gave her inflammation meds. Diana
