I have a little rescue chi ("Meech") who came to me with the same issues.
He had no idea what it meant to pee outside. He did pee inside, however
(unfortunately).
Well luckily I had an older chi ("Bernie") and he became Meechi's mentor in
the peeing department. Going from bush to bush, plant to plant, blade of
grass to blade of grass. Lift the leg, squirt a little, move on. Meechi
learned to follow him and soon was so eager to "follow suit" that he'd bump
right into Bernie or get so close he would get sprayed. So funny!
Now he's pretty much equal and they follow each other, taking turns. After
one pees, the other REALLY wants to pee in the same place, then the first
one wants to cover what the second one did, and around they go in circles!
