Hi Pam

The vets think he has a spinal problem. That explains why he is not in any
pain. However wheels will not help. He can move neither front nor back legs.
Sometimes, rarely, he can move very slowly on his belly.

Hi appetite is so good, which makes me think he is OK.

What is your little guys physical problem which keeps him from standing and
walking? What is your vet's input on his quality of life??

Thank you very much for the advice. On the positive side:

- He is alert

- He eats very well

- He is happy when around us

- He is not in pain

On the down side

- He is on diapers but we keep him clean

- He is bored all the time since he cannot move

- He stays all day in the same place

Someone sent me a questionnaire today about quality of life for dogs. He was
borderline, So we think we will be happy to keep taking care of him.

Is he happy? Is he in pain? Is his bottom raw from the accidents and are you
using diapers?

Are you keeping him around for you? Or is is quality of life...still good?

There are many handicapped dogs that are living full enriched lives. Late into
their senior years.

If you dog is happy, alert, pain free and still shows a will to live, and you
are prepared to continued to provide him with your time, care, food, water,
clean his bottom and love. Then I see nothing wrong with allowing him to live.

I know someone who has a handicapped doxie, they need to express his bladder
and bowels. He's a happy little dog, loves life and he is loved.

I try to care for my animals as best as I can to ensure that they have a life
with quality.

Do what is in the best interest of your little guy.
