The puppy schedule of feeding three times a day should continue until the
dog is a year old, then the feedings can be reduced to twice a day.......

I feed the puppy amount until they are a year old. Chihuahuas usually take
over as the alpha even with big dogs. I have a whippet mix that is 30
pounds. Trixie is 4 pounds and snatches bones right out of his mouth. She also
won't walk around him. She will bark until he gets up and moves. She is such
a brat lol

Do you feed them the amount for a grown up dog? So would I feed Gimli 1/2
cup? I bought Blue Buffalo too. His name is pronounced Gim-Lee (hard G and
short i) after Gimli the dwarf from Lord of the Rings. One of the first
days we had him, the Rottweiler (who is a big puppy too) was nosing him and
Gimli turned around, snarled and growled in a very fierce way (imagine a
hamster growling). The Rottweiler just stopped and backed up very suddenly. We
thought that was hilarious. Gimli has done that several times since, he is
tough!!
