Peter and Paul are full brothers from Idaho. Mary was adopted the same day.
She was found running down a snowy road in Idaho.

Here is Peter & Paul's story as told by the vet. tech that found them.

Two Kittens

Two tiny kittens lay in the deep snow, mewing faintly. Their eyes were just
barely open, but they could not yet see the world clearly. They were soaked
to the skin and very, very cold. Slowly very slowly they attempted to move,
but it was too much of an effort for their tiny bodies. They sank bank
against each other and mewed faintly as the light began to fade from their
eyes.

Suddenly they felt themselves snatched into the air and then stuffed into a
warm, dry place. They could feel a heart beating very close to them. The
warmth revived them and soon they were sound asleep.

At the veterinary clinic a door opened and slammed shut. "I need some help
here" cried a young lady. "I found these two kittens in a snow bank in the
alley. Who could be so cruel? They are very weak. Can someone help me get
them dried off and some food for them?"

Other hands soon were busily working to save the two kittens. One was a
tiny tabby with a bit of white, the other was a bigger tabby with flashy
white markings. Both were little toms. Very quickly both were dried off
and given kitten formula. Then they were placed on warm blanket in the
incubator.

It was so nice to feel full and warm again. The hands that picked them up
gave them food, held them close, and every so often they heard that heart
beating again nearby. Life was once again flowing thru their veins.

Time went on and the kittens grew. They knew each of the veterinarian
technicians and the vets and grew to love them. They stayed in a cat cage,
but they did not know anything else, so it was good. They had plenty to eat
and drink, a clean cat pan and a warm bed. Life was good.

Then one day, they were lifted up out of the cage to look at a lady. Then
they were quickly carried to a table and given a shot. The world faded into
darkness.

As they recovered and groggily looked around they saw no difference. Those
people whose hands they knew so well were all hovering around and talking.
Most of them picked up the kittens and held them. Some murmured softly and
kissed them. The kittens could tell the people were happy. Something good
must be going to happen.

They were placed in a cat carrier and taken out into the waiting room where
a strange lady was waiting. After a while the lady took the carrier and
walked out into the cold. The kittens were still groggy, but they wondered
what was happening. The carrier was put in a big blue truck. The truck
started moving. The kittens settled down to sleep.

Suddenly the truck was no longer moving. The kittens woke up quickly and
looked out of the carrier as it was being carried up some steps and into a
house. Inside the carrier was set down on the floor and the door opened.

The house was warm and full of very interesting smells. Carefully and very
cautiously the kittens moved out of the carrier. Suddenly there were 3 dogs
looking and sniffing them. Well, they knew about dogs from the veterinary
hospital. Then two big cats stalked over to assess the situation. After a
few minutes of inspections and introductions all around the kittens began
exploring.

Time went on and in a few days the kittens had settled into the routine of
the home. Every morning they got a can of canned cat food. Then while they
ate their cat pan was cleaned and made ready for their use. Later they
could sleep, explore, tease the dogs and older cats, anything they wanted.
There were toys everywhere, catnip mice, cat towers, a 2 story cat house,
beds and furniture to sleep on.

As they grew they learned their names were Peter and Paul and that the
strange lady was their "mommy". They would often come and sit on her lap as
she worked on a thing she called a computer. Every night they got to sleep
on a huge bed with all their friends and mommy.

Peter and Paul were two very happy little boys. They had everything they
could want or wish for, including a forever home.

Here is Mary's Story as I believe it happened

The Puppy

The snow was deep and piled high against the buildings. The buildings were
shut up tight against the bitter cold. It was dark and the snow was coming
down blown by a hard, cold wind.

The puppy whined deep in her throat as she struggled thru the cold snow.
She was cold and her thin coat of brown hair did not keep the wind out. She
was tiny, with a short face, big eyes, bowed legs and a curled tail. That
tail now drooped and dragged in the wet snow.

She saw a truck coming down the road and stopped to watch it. Would there
be someone to help her get home? She'd had a wonderful home with a loving
lady. But one day the lady fell and did not get up. Then there were people
there rushing in and out. They took her lady away in a big red truck with
sirens screaming and bright lights flashing.

Then all was quiet and for several days nobody came. The puppy was hungry
and thirsty. Finally some people came. They looked around. One lady said
"Look at what that puppy has done. Put her outside. We'll never sell this
house with her here."

The puppy found herself out in the street. It was snowing and cold. She
wandered here and there. Now she was waiting to see if this truck might be
bringing her lady back.

The truck stopped near her. A big man in a blue uniform got out. He said
"Hey little pup, what are you doing here?" He gently picked her up and took
her around to the back of the truck and lifted her into a cage.

She laid down and waited. The truck started up and in a while it stopped
again. The big man lifted her out of the truck and carried her inside a
building. He opened another cage and put her inside. It was still cold,
but the wind did not blow in there. There was water and food. After eating
she lay down and waited.

The days went by, then weeks. Nobody came except the big man.

One day he came in with a lady. This lady was not her lady.

The new lady said "Please let me hold it." The man opened the cage door.
The lady bent down and picked up the puppy. The man said "I've been hoping
somebody would take her. She's way overdue to be put to sleep." The lady
replied "No she is mine now."

The lady carried her out into another room. This room was warmer. After
the man took a piece of paper from the lady, the lady carrying the pup left.
The new lady carried the pup out to a blue truck and lifted the pup inside
the cab. The lady got in and turned to the pup. She said "You are now
mine. God has given you to me to love and care for. I hope you will love
me. Your new name is Mary." With that the pup, now named Mary laid down
on the passenger's seat as they drove away.

They drove for a long, long time. Mary laid and watched the new lady. The
new lady talked and talked all the way. The truck was warm and the woman's
voice was gentle. Mary soon went to sleep.

The truck stopped and Mary woke up. The new lady picked her up and carried
her into a house. It was warm. It smelled of other dogs, cats and strange
things. The lady put Mary down. Mary saw 2 dogs approaching. They were
all little like herself. As the lady greeted each dog and petted them she
kept saying "This is your new sister, Mary."

Over the next week Mary met all the dogs, cats, a parrot and 7 parakeets.
Mary made friends with Jewel, who told all about Puerto Rico and her hard
life there. Mary also learned to love the cross old Peke, Duchess, who had
been in a puppy mill. Mary met the cats, Angel, Holly, Jingles, Peter and
Paul. Mary really enjoyed playing with Peter and Paul, they had come home
at the same time she had. Peter and Paul had been dumped in a snow pile and
rescued. So Mary, Peter and Paul became real buddies.

As time went by Mary learned this was her new forever home. Her new lady
spent all day at home with her and the other animals. Mary learned to love
her new lady.

Every morning the new lady opened a can of food for the cats and a big can
of food for the dogs. Mary ate and ate. Then there was dry food in the
evening. Every night everybody climbed onto a big soft human bed and slept
all night with the new lady. Life was good once more for Mary and she was
content.
