Hi all, Thank you all for the prayers. I got her to the vet at about 7:15, and he said that it does have to be repaired. I managed to get out of the house with Dolly this morning while Desi was eating. Broke my heart when I got home because I let Desi out of his area and he was searching all over for her. I had him jump on my lap and he was smelling, so hopefully he could smell his favorite place to visit.I am holding him right now.
The vet said that he has two surgeries scheduled before her, and that they will call me later - I think they might call me after the surgery, and then when she is ready to come home. I have the HOA walk through, a conference call with the president of the Lewy Body Dementia Association, and I have to pick up a few things before I bring her home. I was going to clean the stroller really good so I can keep her in there so that Mr. Desi Lou doesn't lick her incision or try to remove the stitches as he did when she had knee surgery. However, at 6 months Desi could jump on the front of the stroller and on top of the canopy. He also chewed the zipper so I cannot enclose her. I think that my only option would be for him to sleep in his area tonight - which will be right by us. I know that Dolly may not want to be held, and if so, I will put her in Desi's area and I can sleep with one eye open again. I will try to think of a solution to that, but getting her through this surgery is the first thing on my mind, and then being able to find a good solution that will keep Desi away from her during the night. I think she may feel better if she is in one of her beds and have a nice clean blanket over her. If anyone has a solution that I may not be thinking of, please send your thoughts. Thanks again for all of the prayers. I guess getting the hernia repair done is the right thing to do and I won't have to keep thinking that I have to remember to have that done if she were to be put under for something else. At times like this, I am so glad that my vet is a walk-in clinic and no appts are needed. I will update you all later after I have word from the vet, or have Dolly home.
