Last fall I posted asking that you pray and send good wishes to me in hopes
that I could get a dog. I sent a request to the manager of my building back in
March asking for a dog. She refused. I tried to use the ADA laws, but they no
longer apply to companion dogs. She refused to co-operate until I filed a
complaint with the Department of Fair Employment and Housing. Today she called
and said she doesn't want to go to mediation, so she'll write a letter stating
that I can have a dog in my apartment. (I can't adopt at a shelter without
that.)
So thanks to every one of you who supported my desire to have a little
companion. I've got a stable lifestyle and decent wages, so I can give a
shelter dog a wonderful life. And I am so looking forward to having a loving
little friend!
