That is wonderful!
I always think it is so appalling that some people will always say ‘it is just a dog!’  I think that I can speak for everyone on this group and everyone that I know, that our pets are not ‘just a dog’ or ‘just a cat’.
I’m not sure what it is, I have heard it from folks on this group, and even people that I know, but those that have Chihuahuas are just so enamored.
I have a friend who had two miniature poodles.  About a month ago, she went to the local no-kill shelter to adopt a dog…Chihuahua wasn’t even something that she had ever thought about.  They were looking, and her husband was with the staff having them put one pup back and he was requesting to see another.  Well, Pam was still looking and she said she came upon a kennel with three dogs.  Two were perhaps medium size dogs, and then standing in between them with just seeking eyes was  a Chihuahua.  She said she doesn’t know what really caught her eye, but she asked the shelter staff to see her.  From that moment, Pam was in love with this dog…her name was Tink, and Pam changed it to Zoe.  She said that she didn’t like going outside and that she shakes all of the time.  I told her that Zoe is probably cold…and she agreed.  I was at Ross the next day and found three matching fleece jackets with a hood and then just the little band around the chest.  She said she didn’t want all three…just one for Zoe.  I have received emails from Pam that are ALL about Zoe.  What Zoe did; if she went out; how she looks at Pam when she is laying in her little kennel.  I don’t hear anything about the poodles except that Zoe was trying to nuzzle in their beds with them or something that mentioned the poodles but not without Zoe in the same sentence.
A couple days ago she sent me another email and said that she is just so in love with Zoe and that she never knew that they had such great personalities.
One of the emails she wrote that Zoe doesn’t shake any more with her new little jacket, but Teddy (female poodle) had the little jacket on once and she does not want them to take it off.  I think very soon someone is going to be walking three little pups with matching jackets.
Unless the Chihuahua is not treated well and trained, they can be little and mean.  But there are way more that are sweet, gentle, and just steal our hearts.
A happy story!  I love happy stories.

A Texas appellate court recently ruled that state law entitles the owners of a wrongfully euthanized dog to recover "sentimental" or "intrinsic" damages from a defendant for the loss of the pet.
