thing is he could always go through the fence - had plenty of opportunities to 
run away before but didn't until the puppy showed up.  My larger dogs, if the 
pointer digs under fence, will run and explore too - but then they come back.  
I don't like any of them out of the yard but she can be very determined. But he 
could always leave if he wanted to.  He was here 6 weeks.  I've always figured 
even a roamer comes home soon because they are loyal to their family.  Time 
will tell I guess but there are a lot of dangers for a small dog.
