Poor Amigo, I hope someone found him and is caring for him... Gloria In a message dated 1/7/2012 8:24:45 A.M. Central Standard Time, [email protected] writes:
He did not like the new Puppy at all. Seemed tense a lot. Wednesday afternoon I went out front with him and our other little dog and turned my back and in a couple of seconds he was gone - walked up and down road and called - right before dark - 2 1/2 hours later he came to back porch. (he fits through the mesh in the fence) - then - yesterday morning at 6 am, pitch dark and 37 degrees out my husband let him out in back yard (husband has mild MS and can't move quickly) - I had said he should only go out with a leash but he figured it was dark and such - anyway - he said he immediately took off through fence and ran off across front. He has not returned and is no where to be found. Where we live everyone has 5 acres, some areas are wooded, including part of our property. A lot of places one can't see. I have never had a dog do this! And a Chi? In the cold? If he has found another home and is happy that's ok but they won't know he needs heartworm treatment! He has appointment to do phase 2 on the 23rd! My husband was shocked and so am I. We thought he loved us! Isn't this very unusual behaviour - especially for a Chi? The pointer and the Bichon/min-schnauzer don't like the puppy either (the Shepherd mix loves him and loved Amigo) - but the others don't run away because of it! I just feel very bad wondering what has happened to him. Also thinking maybe he wasn't dumped but just left whereever he lived last (and obviously wasn't taken care of with the hooks and heartworms and fleas).
