I had told my husband he was to only go out on a leash - he honestly didn't
THINK (he's a man) and it was so dark and cold and the only time he had run
before was when he was not in the fenced area - it's not instantaneous for him
to get through - a bit of a struggle. But Tim has MS - he can't walk fast! He
also has slow reflexes.

Where we live it's hard to explain but it would seem he had some place in mind
to go because he found his way here in the middle of the night and also back
when he ran a couple of days earlier. As to our shelter - you can't get an
answer there on some days - have to try tomorrow. But I tend to think he is at
someone's home. If I find him I will let you know. I dreamed about him last
night.

I know dogs like to go off and explore - at least some of them - but they still
want to go back to their home. It really did seem like he determined he wanted
to leave because of the puppy - I know that sounds strange to some but he was
tense - felt stiff when I would pick him up. Not sure why because he got along
with the others but they were here when he arrived. I've just never seen
anything quite like this. All these dogs except my other small one were just
thrust on us. I've never lost a dog or had one hit by a car and they have been
healthy. I don't consider myself irresponsible either.
