My Desi Lou was 2 lbs 11 oz at 8 weeks old. The first thing that my vet said when I took Desi for his first visit on the way home from the breeder was ‘Oh…he is a hefty one.’ Desi was on a diet from day 1. He would eat all his food and then start trying to find some somewhere else or cry all the time between meals. I did not relent to him. When he was neutered at less than 4 months, my vet told me to take him off of puppy food because he was not losing some of the fat that was packed on his little body. Then he started the vacuuming the food out of his bowl and then I had to start feeding him kibble by kibble…and it took a long time to feed him twice a day but I just persevered. He now can only eat out of treat toys where it takes him time to eat the food, thus helping his esophagus that would have been shot by now. Pease…listen to your vet about how to proceed. Your vet will be more than happy to guide you along the way. Mine does that for no charge…anytime that I think either of mine might be too fat or too thin…free exam, free weigh-in. He does this so that the owners can get the info from the vet and in turn, those pups are then evaluated and a professional opinion is given.

Midget is a big girl for 13 weeks. Better limit what she eats or she could develop some health issues. I can hardly wait for nicer weather, so I can go back to taking my little guy for a walk, he seems to have gained some over the winter. Gloria In a message dated 1/19/2012 4:07:48 P.M. Bandit is my grey n white apple head and now is 6 weeks old. He has picked up potty training as soon as we brought him home and put him on the paper, he on the other hand is way to picky on his eating midgi will eat anything even if it means runny poop and I don't like that..
