Hi all, Last night I took some photos of Dolly's belly. She wasn't very happy about it at first, but when I could get her to lay on her back and take the pics a couple came out pretty good. Well, actually, they came out to where I thought that I missed the spot.but I found it - just so very much healed. I had to work with the settings because it was pretty dark in the house to be able to really get the detail to show the scar good enough. Some of the pictures that I took were very hard for me, even knowing where the incision is, to identify where she was cut. I am very happy with the results. She is a bit grouchy today, but her meds are all gone. I think she is more bent out of shape because I am not sitting and holding her all day. I was involved in a lot of HOA issues and trying to keep up with all the emails pouring in.
It starts a above where the biggest and kind of round bunched scar tissue is.I think that must be where the original umbilical hernia was. I don't really know why they didn't shave both sides of her belly the same, but the side they shaved more off is the side that the new hernia erupted, so probably they needed to make that clean so that the vet knew how far to fix the hernia inside. I am so glad that this surgery was so much less than I anticipated. And I think that the belly is actually pretty forgiving when they are cut there. I can't even tell where her spay scar is - I did see it when I was looking at her new incision and it is barely noticeable if I am LOOKING for it. CIMG0035.JPG
