That is why I have always had Dolly & Desi in separate ex-pens. I am going to
put the two pens together and let them both in there when I go out for a very
short period of time. They like to lay together and play together. Dolly is
not eating all of her food at one time, but if I am only gone 30 minutes, she
would be OK until I got home if she needed a little something to eat.

Yeah I know it is a pack thing..and sometimes some get picked on etc..just like
in the wild. But I don't think I need to allow it if it can be prevented.
When I leave home, I put my chihuhuas in the bedroom and leave the Jack Russell
out in the main part of the house. That way I don't have to worry about I may
come home to.

I’ve heard Gabby squeal as if hurt. She is my littlest girl. Also Nicky loves
to play, but I’ve seen him be send rolling over and over. I’m thinking along
the lines of 3 separate pens within the vinyl fence enclosed area. One for the
tiny ones, one for those who race around wildly, and one for my older more
sedate or handicapped ones.

Do they hurt the little ever by playing too rough?? My bigger one, Paco, has
always been so gentle with him thank goodness. Now I do separate both of them
from the Jack Russell whenever I am not eyeballing them as he is not only
bigger but has a psycho button and can turn aggressive for no reason.

Pam, I’ve got one of those. But I also have two wild Indians (the PIG and
CHUG). Do you think I should divide the yard?

It is funny. My bino, the tiny one is such a dog. I just wanted to wrap him
up cotton and never let him down. In fact when I got him, he was such a
failure to thrive I carried him around all the time in a pouch and had to feed
him kibble by kibble to get him to eat. But he grew up to be such a dog's dog
lol. He always wants to be in the yard..rolling in any stinky he can
find..lying in the dirt..chasing squirrels and lizards. No hot house flower is
he lol

I will soon be designing a yard for my dogs (all under 20 lbs down to 3 lbs.)

I thinking of a board or vinyl fence 5 ft high with another foot of wicker on
top. I’m not afraid of them jumping over it, but of big dogs coming over it.
If I have big dogs nearby I will put a hot wire on top of the wicker and
another down a foot or so.

The yard itself should be maybe 40 feet by 40 feet. What do you think? (I
have 8 dogs). Because I sometimes take in deaf or blind dogs I don’t want much
in the yard. Maybe one tree? My dogs spend 99% of their time in the house.
What would you add or take away? Is it too large or too small?

I want grass. Most of the play houses I have seen for dogs have too my places
the dogs could catch and break a leg in or even strangle. (Okay, okay. So I
am a worry wort.) That’s why I want help with this. I think I would put them
all in a padded room if I could.
