Susie, your little guy sounds just like my little girl. Gosh, I guess I won't
take it personally any more. I couldn't figure out why she acted like I was
poisoning her or going to smack her when I give her a treat. I thought that was
really weird but I have had her since she was 2 months and she started that
weirdness a couple of years ago (she is 5 now) but she is very loving and
sweet. She just has a couple of strange things she does, that includes the song
and dance at mealtimes (she acts like she has a personal vendetta again her
food bowl)...funny. She also grows at bedtime, every time I take her to bed but
never bites. I just ignore it. I think it is just her thing.

Evelyn

Subject: [Chihuahuas] Growling snappy Chi's

I have 2 chi's. One you can move anywhere and no
complaints. The other, a rescue that was scheduled for euthenasia, is
something else. I 've had him for 10 yrs now and he still growls if you go to
move him in or out of bed. He still checks every treat as tho I was poisoning
him and goes thru a whole song and dance with his food dish before he starts
eating. He jumps back , sneaks up on it , jumps back again etc. He growls when
I
put his harness on-no matter how much training I've done with him and how
gentle
I am that just seems to be ingrained in him. He will also "snap" but it's a
fake
he never bites, ever.
