Yes it can be a thin line there.  If my guy did it with other people or my 
other dogs, I would take issue with it.  But for him to take his toy into 
another room and indulge his dominance with it, for me that is a gray area.  He 
is a well adjusted dog that takes direction and listens..totally accepts me as 
Alpha.  So I do indulge him on this..and he has been doing it for 10 years with 
no change in behavior so....that is my story and I am sticking to it Rebecca lol

True! My female Dane does it, very rarely.  But I stop it in a heartbeat. She 
is not the dominant dog!!! I AM. she is not allowed to put another dog in its 
place. That's my job as the leader!

asserting dominance.  I have had males and females display this behavior and so
