Oh Pam, I sure hope it works out! He looks like maybe he is suppose to be a
LH? If he is in a kill shelter, and unless you adopt or a rescue does
quickly, he won't have a prayer being in that shape. The shelters down there
to my knowledge, don't due a full blood test to see if his organs are okay.
They use the heartworm kit to test a few drops of blood. If he has whip
worm, which you cannot see in the poop, that can and usually does make their
fur fall out, plus he is lacking nutrition from being under weight. That's
the way Princess was when I got her, plus she had 2 other worms, and in 3
months with the right meds and a good diet and Liper-Derm, which helped
tremendously, she was looking like a healthy dog again. That poor baby....!!
I also pray for the bigger chi too, that she gets adopted.

Prayers being sent!!!

Very sweet. My news of the day. I "MAY" be getting a new baby. Very
tentative. At our local county shelter there is this little white chi, very
similar to my tiny Bino but perhaps a bit longer. I get updates on Chis
arriving..not that I am ever looking of course, lol, and this guy just came
in. Ok, hate shelters anyway..big barking dogs everywhere..scared and in
terrible condition. I go in and there with all the pitts and everything
huddling in a corner is this filthy, emaciated, scared, little guy with some
kind of skin disease marking him everywhere. He was found huddling under a
shed and brought in. Worker said no data on him as of yet..he has not even
been seen by a vet yet. He is in a cage with another chi, perhaps brought in
together, as this bigger chi is definately protecting him. She had to
restrain the bigger chi with a rope to get the white one out. I just
scooped him up off the floor and huddled him right against me..skin scrunge
by damned. He was shaking so bad..My God this little one is seriously all
bones and big eyes. The worker looked at me like I was nuts but after a
minute he stopped shaking and raised his little head and gave me a kiss.
Have no idea if he is just starved or starved and/or sick but he is such a
mess. No idea of age but he let me take a little peek at his front teeth
and they are white with a little tiny plaque so not a puppy but not old
either. He is going to be heartworm tested Monday and he will have to be
neutered but don't know how much else they wll do to him. Probably not much
.it is an as is proposition at those shelters. Hubby is going to look at him
with me tomorrow and see what he thinks. I warned him of his condition. She
asked me if I would take him if he was heartworm positive and I said yes but
not if he is in kidney failure or imminent death is on the horizon.
I will know more tomorrow when hubby goes with me. Pray for this little one,
