Rabies or anyother vaccines can lower their natural immune system and leave them vunerable to skin problems. My new rescue has demodectic mange and yeast infections of the skin and his ears are like that. Chunks of fur and skin are falling off leaving bare red skin. He is on antibiotics and antibacterial shampoo.

I have a 3 year old Chi (Lupe)and for awhile now the tops of his ears have been real crusty even as far as taking little chunks off the top when the crust gets really hard and i try to clean them. Been to vets and they gave me some ointment that isnt doing ANYTHING!! also on his right side he is losing hair in like a round circle. I just read something about all of this could be caused by his 3 year booster for his rabies, Could this be true?? Where he is losing hair is the site where he got the shot. Not knowing this i have changed his food and did so many other things and nothing is seeming to help his ears or his spot where he is losing hair. Can someone please give me any suggestions?? I love him soooooo much!!!<3 <3
