Thanks for the warm welcome! My 3 yorkies (when living) shared the same bed &
curled up together. I always crated them when I babysat my nieces or when they
visited to protect my dogs. My granddaughter has a yorkie that lives with her
mom & Nana & granny, but her mother doesn't like dogs? My granddaughter loves
Scooter & wants me to let him sit on her lap, but in 60 seconds tops, he's on
my lap!! She loves to pet him but I tell her he's sleeping when it feels like
she's annoying him by wanting to pet too much. When we first adopted Missy, we
crated her & Roxy together so she didn't think she'd been naughty & we let
Missy interact with my granddaughter for small periods of time to see how they
got along & everything went well. Now we can let all 3 dogs out to enjoy us &
family in harmony. My whole family spends time petting & playing with Scooter
so that he's not overly attached to me, but he's clearly all mine & I just love
it!
We had a neighbor with a chi & she could pet my yorkie but her dog wouldn't let
anyone touch her or her dog "Sugar". I was afraid of being bitten & just walked
away puzzled because "Sugar" didn't like affection & it made me wonder why the
dog was that way....15 years later it all makes sense & it was the owner
letting the dog run the show. I'm the leader of the pack.
