We adopted her from a shelter with the agreement we would get her knees fixed. She was a grade 4 in both and hobbled around like an old man. She came through the surgery very well and is still doing great now, 3 years later. She does not seem bothered by changes in the weather, etc. Our vet said the biggest thing to make sure of is that she doesn't gain any weight because that extra weight is so bad for the knees. We give her glucosamine also as a preventative. Hopefully, your guy's injury is just a soft tissue issue and gets better. The surgery CAN be very successful, however!
