you might try something naturopathic like Calms Forte by Hylands for the
anxiety and aggression. Not expensive, can't hurt them (no way to overdose) and
it does work. We use it on the alpacas and dogs. Works on humans too! Up until
this past Monday we had 2 very old livestock guard dogs. Bear was 13 and Bella
our Great Pyr is around 15...very very old for these big dogs. Both have been
exhibiting signs of cognitive dementia for awhile but as long as they were
eating and seemed ok all was well. Last weekend Bear stopped eating and
wouldn't get up etc.and if he did get up, he didn't really know where he was.
By Monday we were at the vet and Bear went to the Rainbow Bridge. We knew we'd
be devastated when the time came for him to leave us and we miss him terribly
but there wasn't anything that was working anymore.
So - try the Calms Forte and you might see if there is something on Dr.Rob
Pollard's website. He has several herbal products for dogs and lots of links
and information on stuff.
