Poodles and spaniels ears go down, so she isn't mixed with that, not only
that but her skull and muzzle are more chi, The Paps come with their ears up
and are larger with a lot of feathering and a good pap has the butterfly
mask on it's face, hence the nickname butterfly ears. The other type of pap
is a Phalene who has the ears down. They can weigh from 4lbs to 12lbs. Most
I have seen are the larger type.
I also remembered seeing a couple of LH on the Westminister dog show that
had a lot of feathering on the ears, so I guess it isn't that unusual.

Beth, who is in this group has two Pap's and she would know a lot more about
the breed.

I'm definitely no expert either. To me she looks like a chihuahua with extra
hair. But maybe she is a mix of something. She isn't the yappy ankle-biter
that I've always thought chis were lol. Stella barks once a week. After 3
years the loud mouth terriers she lives with haven't corrupted her.

had to guess, she has the little ripply fur like perhaps a mini poodle or a
spaniel. I think I just read over the weekend, when researching Papillons
for a neighbor, that they are actually some sort of spaniel and the name was
changed somewhere along the line to Papillon because of the way their ears
look like butterflies. Someone in my community has one, and the hair on the
ears is not really long, just very soft and wispy looking.
