Thank you. I did pet therapy with mine and the Paws 2 Read program at the
local library. The ones I have owned-- Rottweilers, Staffords, and now a
Cane Corso are all great ambassadors for their respective breeds. I take my
responsibility as an owner of one of these breeds very seriously and do an
enormous amount of socialization and training throughout the dogs lives. My
last Rottweiler was a protection trained bitch that I imported from Hungary
at 4 years of age. Most people would have been terrified to do so, with her
training, size, breed, and age but she was the BEST therapy dog I ever had,
and in fact was featured in a People Magazine article in the July 17th,
2006 issue for her Service Dog work. It was alot of fun doing that photo
shoot for the magazine and when she got cancer in 2007 and had to retire
from her Paws 2 Read duties at the library, they had a going away party for
her and we had a huge turnout. She really changed alot of people's minds
about Rottweilers. She passed her ATTS, CGC, and Delta Society temperament
test with the highest possible scores. I got compliments on her from every
evaluator. ..if more people knew how to properly train a dog, we wouldn't
have nearly the problems we do.....
