I have been saving my parrots feathers for years. I have had this craft idea for them, and I suppose that when their time comes it could also be considered an memorial. I want to cut a thick piece of styrofoam into their shape and size, and then insert and glue their feathers into it. I figured I could buy those glass eyes at the craft store and also make a paper-mache' beak and paint it. I hope they live long enough to collect enough of them. They are 23 yrs old and the other is 22 yrs old.

I painted birds on the outside with paint pen and put some of his feathers on the inside. This is hung with an organza ribbon in her house. I used to make stone birdhouses. I've made them with keys, dog tags, whatever items are treasured memory type things. I embed these into the stone that I install on the house. You can use the little beads that have the alphabet on them and spell the dog or persons name.or a special year.
