Judy, I broke the same toe about 4 years ago and my cousin, who is a doctor, 
told me to tape the two toes together with some kind of special surgical tape. 
He said as long as it wasn't too swollen (otherwise I would have to go to the 
hospital to have it x-rayed) it should be ok. It had to be taped together for 
about 3 weeks before it was better but it is fine now. I have actually broken 
two toes, but at different times. Boy I'll tell ya, you go blind when it first 
happens, it is so painful. Hope you feel better.
