And what makes him or there animals any different then when we post our dogs that only have 24-72 hrs left because they are in kill shelters?
And I never believe the numbers of euthanized dogs from reporters, especially here, because any one that is closely involved with the high kill shelters knows for a fact that the numbers are actually a lot higher then they tell the public. They see the dogs the night before closing and the next morning when the door is opened the same dogs aren't there. People have been known to do this for a whole quarter, and keep their own records. When the shelters quarterly report came out, the figures never matched the actual amount of animals that were killed. Did you know that most kill shelters do not have to report the actual kill numbers? They are only required to report a percentage in order to qualify for funds from our taxes to stay open. This is especially true in the high kill rural shelters where some of them don't even list the animals for adoption. Only the rescues that visit those shelters, know about the dogs that are going to be killed the next day, and try to network for them overnight. If a dog is brought in by it's owner, it is put down immediately and no record is kept for intake, or euthanizing. A couple of years ago there was a site that showed pictures of dogs from euthanasia, for the same reason......a wake up call, and the public screamed that they didn't want to see dead dog pictures. They bashed that site. I remember politics got involved and the site went down. People here don't want the cold hard facts anymore then our government is willing to deal with it. Most people even in the groups, can't stand to see a list of death row dogs, because they feel helpless and can't rescue anymore, or don t want to face the facts because they really want to buy a puppy, and not an older dog, or they just plain don't want to deal with rescues, or the possibilities of taking in a sick dog from a shelter. There is still one site that shows death row dogs and a lot of states including hypocritical NY won't allow there dogs to be listed on it.
