Vet Guard's medication is

   * Permethrin *45.0%*
   * Pyriproxyfen (Nylar^® *) *5.0%*

*Frontline Plus is: 9.8% Fipronil & 8.8% S-methoprene*
*Sentry Fiproguard is 9.7% Fipronil*
*
*
*K9 Advantix II is:*
*Imidacloprid; 1-[6-Chloro-3-pyrindinyl) methyl]-N-nitro-2-imidazolidinimine*8.8%
*Permethrin*44.0%
*Pyriproxyfen IGR (Insect Growth Regulator)*0.44%

As you cansee, the PRIMARY ingredient in Vet Guard is identical to that in K9 Advantix II, and it is NOT the same as that in Frontline Plus, so you CANNOT compare it to Frontline Plus.

I have tried the Pet Armor Plus from Walmart BUT... they charge the SAME for the dose for LARGE breed dogs as the dose for ALL OTHER SIZE dogs, so ONLY the Large Breed dosage is at all reasonable.

I shifted to Sentry Fiproguard for dogs, but it does NOT have the S-methoprene.

So, with that information, you can make a more informed decision of what you wish to use. Always compare the actual medication so you're comparing apples to apples, and not apples to oranges.
