Pair of Basset Hounds stolen and found 5 yrs later, hundreds of miles from home! Happy Endings! I have seen so many stories like this. As long as the dog is microchipped.....Don't ever give up if you have ever lost a cat or a dog. . http://www.cnn com/video/?hpt=hp_t2#/video/living/2012/07/20/dnt-dogs-found-after-5-years wxia
It's also a good reminder, to go on your microchip account page and make sure your phone # and info is up to date. Some people still don't realize that when they get a pet microchipped, the only info on that chip is from the manufacture, or it may have the rescue number on it. You must put your personal info on it, by going to the website from where you purchased the chip. There are also universal sites, where you can check to make sure it is registered throughout the US, and not just your state. I recheck the site every year, just to make sure the info is still in the data base. And a good thing I just did it, because one of the sites isn't available anymore! The domain is up for sale. This one still works: http://www.petmicrochiplookup.org/Default.aspx
