Hi,
My name is Joan and I live in North Las Vegas, NV. I haven't posted much
lately, but I do read the posts on digest.
I know someone right now that has chihuahuas because her 5 year old wants them
and they disappeared last night and they didn't find them until today in the
community across the street from them. They have had them at least a couple
months, no tags, no collar, no harness no microchip. They got them back this
morning but if they get out again and I find them, I am taking them and finding
them a good home.

When I read your post, there were a couple things that came to mind.
Chihuahuas can be hurt and really try to cover it up. My female had her knee
injured by my chihuahua puppy jumping on the bed when she was under the
blanket. I didn't know for a long time, until she was shaking so much. When
you wrote that the puppy had been dropped and then that she shook when you held
her and when you tried to teach her to shake...that might be a sign that she is
injured and hurts.
My male is a food addict. If I put out the whole bag of food he would eat and
eat until his insides would explode. If they are feeding her according to what
they should for her size, she could still run to eat your dogs food looking
like she is starved.

The sad thing is that we can't take these dogs that are not being taken care of
correctly. That is very sad, but if you think that she is all skin and bones,
you could contact someone or maybe talk to teh mother about her needing more
food. Perhaps you can even tell her sometime that if they ever decide that
they can't keep her to let you know and you will find a good home for her.

I wish we could help all these little chihuahuas that are in homes that are not
appropriate for them. Until then...prayers!
