I was so upset this week, and you will be too when you hear this story.
My daughter is a vet tech in a very busy hospital. A chi breeder had 2
longhaired chi puppies she needed to place into a good home. My daughter's
co-worker took both of them home. After just a few days, one of the puppies
were rushed into the hospital in an emergency situation. The new owner had
left the puppies unsupervised in the yard along with her large dog, and when
she returned, one puppy lay there having seizures.
After being examined by the vet, it was determined that the puppy had been
attacked by the big dog, puncturing the skull. The puppy had to be euthanized.
When my daughter shared this info with me, I could hardly stand it!! I was so
upset.
Then the very next week, once again, the second puppy left unsupervised with
the big dog, the new owner came into the home only to find a lot of blood, and
the second little puppy lying there lifeless.
What a tragedy!!! I felt like I was nearing a heart attack hearing this!! I
am still extremely upset.
Just a reminder, not to leave such small dogs unsupervised with larger dogs or
small children. And by the way, this large dog was a Labrador Retriever. What
a tragic ending. Common sense....some people sure lack it.
