Average heat cycle is 12-21 days, most dogs go the full 3 weeks. Inception
is 97% guaranteed if dogs mate between the 12-16 day of the cycle.
I hope that you intend to spay her after she finishes her cycle. You should
wait 3 months after she finishes, so that the tummy is tighten back up again
and her hormones are balanced again. That should give you two safe months to
have her spayed, before she goes into heat again, which is normally 5 to 6
months after the start of the first heat cycle. So she can be spayed any
time between Jan/Feb.

I sure hope that you have no intentions of breeding them in the future,
because here in the US, there are over 17,000 chis on Petfinders that need
homes. Plus breeding can be tricky, since many toy breeds may need an
emergency c-section. The only chis that should be bred here are show quality
chis. We have plenty of pet quality chis, and so many of them have health
issues and temperament issues, from poor breeding.

You should also consider having Jacques neutered, because he may still still
go through the mating process with Isabella even if she is spayed, plus
it will help tremendously with him marking the house with pee and poop.

Hope you picked up panties and pads for Isabella. My Gigi was a mess all
over the house when she was in heat, before I got her spayed.

I really miss her but it was necessary to do it, Isabelle is in heat and
Jacques you know...It's the first time for her, she's too young to be
pregnant so I gave her to a friend of mine, he will keep her...someone knows
how long they have to stay separated? Maybe one week?
Let me know...for now enjoy my beautiful puppies... http://www.youtube
