Yes, I have said the same thing. And it is sad for people like us who are willing to go the extra mile if we had the room.
All of these rescues are begging for Fosters too. They want so much to pull them from the shelters, but can't unless they can guarantee the shelters that they have a foster for them. You know Mary, a lot of the rescues pay for all vetting and a lot of them even give you food because they get it free from the food programs. It is just a matter of having the room for them especially a quarantine place for the first couple of weeks to make sure that they didn't pick up anything from the shelters, which would safeguard our own dogs. If I had my own house, I would have a spare bedroom, or a finished basement just for fosters, until they pass quarantine. Even then I don't think I would have more then 6 at a time. Here on the East coast it would be easy to find homes too. Nice dream...... The real sad part is that they only list there dogs when they only have 2-3 days left. That male is really haunting me, cause he looks so sad and scared. You know they would have more room if they put them all together in a larger cage, and that would take up less space, and give them more time. As it is, those cages that they are in are real small. I missed these, LH's, the red is the female and the black is the male, #2060 and #2061 #2011 male #1992 male #2009 male -------Original Message------- From: Mary Overton Date: 9/8/2012 11:02:15 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Chihuahuas] Floyd County Animal Control, GA -Male Chi, High Kill Shelter It breaks my heart to think what happens if no one adopts them. They had female chis too. I already have more than enough.
