Thanks Charlene, I'm sure I can find them when I go shopping. And thanks for
the warning about the dye too! What fun for all of you to be traveling
and see the world! Hope all goes well with their shots.

Peggy
Sorry I have spent the last 1/2 hour searching the web for them with
no-avail.
I get them at PetCo, I am sure that PetSmart also carries them also.
They are on the chew toy isle.
I have used different ones.
They are all good.
I have gotten SAM the big red circle one.
I takes him forever to chew it up,,,,,days.
Caution!! the red color will stain!!
So keep them where things don't need caution when they chew them if you get
this type.
When I get them now I don't do the red,,,,,,,,,
i don't think all that red food dye is good for them at all.
Saturday I will be taking the 5 in for rabies shots at PetCo so i will look
and then post the names.
The reason the 5 are going there is because we are traveling,,,,,,,,,,,
motor home down in FL,,,,,,,,,,live in OK.
I talked to their doctor and found out exactly what they needed.
They got all there other shots a week ago so the 2 weeks will be up for the
next shots(rabies) this coming Sat.
SAM has plenty of his non-steroidal meds for his hip so that is not a worry.

When we had been gone for 6 months i got some more for him by mail,,,,,,,,,,
,
now he is set for another 6 months.
When we get home they all will have to go in for physical and teeth cleaning

I do need to call around today and find out who(vets) carries Science Diet
because SAM need his special no CALCIUM dog food.
He has to eat this because he had severe kidney stones,,,,,,,,,,,,
The vet said it was a must to prevent it happening again.
another thing that is good for treat.
natures Balance dog food has a sausage roll type dog food, I have gotten it
and sliced it thin and the in 1/2 again and placed on racks and let it dry.
They love them,,,,,,,,
but a word of caution!!
It is dog food so take into consideration the caloric intake when you feed
it to them
We are bad,,,,,,,,,our babies are over weight.
They get to many treats from the table, ,,,,,,,,,
I try and tell Charles(DH) to only feed salad stuff(tomato/cucumber/lettuce)
but he gives them other things
The only one that is not over-weigght is SMUDGE.

I never give my babies anything like this........
the rawhide chews are extremely dangerous.
The Small pieces can stick in the throat and swell and
block the trachea(airway) causing death.
I was on another Chi group and a *friend* posted
that her Chi died of this.
They now have the chews made of *gelatin* and will give
them this to chew on and not the others.
One caution,,,,,,,,,,,don't let them chew it to much, as they
can end up with very loose jell like stools.
I found this out with SAM, my Chi/Boston.
Being a biger boy he in a day ate the whole thing!

the products have topped 2,200, federal veterinary health officials said.
Food and Drug Administration officials this week issued the first summary of
reports of pet deaths linked to the jerky treats in the past 18 months,
