Lynda, thanks so much for writing this, I've been wondering whose fault
it was... the zoo.. or the mom??? Sadly so many zoos are at fault.
Our own KC Zoo has been responsible for the death of
2 chimps recently. Also many zoos have escapes.
As a private primate mom, I'm constantly aware of the on going
problems. But when a toddler is
killed it is so tragic.

Hello Everyone - I live in Pittsburgh...this is a tragic horrific most
awful happening. Sadly this parent was incredibly negligent - signs
are posted everywhere in this area not to do what she did - and
now...all will suffer. The poor parents will have this guilt and
heartache for the rest of their lives, the zoo will most likely be
made to pay for her negligence and one of the endagered dogs is also
gone. My compassion goes out to the family that lost this poor
innocent soul so tragically - it also goes out to the zoo - who works
very hard at keeping the people and the animals safe - but my anger
falls on the parent for not obeying the signs put there to
keep the children safe.
Our town is very saddened by this tragedy...
