Hello Sharon, I that your Kitty Kia will be totaly free from that virus soon. I know you worry about her. I recently lost my 17 year old tomcat Thijs ansd still miss him. And my female cat Trijntje is 12 too and has some heart-murmours. My 8 year old deaf tomcat has HCM and dry eyes syndrom, so I worry about him too.
I am so glad to hear that Herbie is doing a lot better. Sad though he lost one eye. It would be wonderful if vet dr. Woods will adopt Herbie himself. Good to hear he is such a friendly dog, considdering all he went through and he thanked the officer so beautifully. And how fantastic so many people were at theat walk organized for Herbie. I hope the person that did this to Herbie will be caught and punished. As for “Herbie” the dog...he’s doing a lot better! He still has a long way to go but they think he will completely recover...he lost one eye...and he will need surgery on his skull...after he has recovered more. He wags his tail and is happy to see people...and even eats out of a dish now...they were hand feeding him. The police officer who first went on the call and found him...goes to visit him every day! And the girls at Dr Woods office told me they THINK he might adopt him when the time comes! The first time “Herbie” stood was the other day..and what was so great about it was he stood up (from the table) and looked the officer right in the face! I think he was telling the officer “thank you”! I know that would make my day if it happened to me! The girls said when they go in to clean the drains he has in his head...he grumbles and “talks”...very gentle dog...he’s never tried to bite anyone even though he’s been through so much. Dr Woods is my vet...I just switched last year...and I have faith in him that “Herbie” will make a complete recovery. Thank you all for the prayers for my kitty “Kia”...and for “Herbie” Below is a link to a walk they had for “Herbie” today...I wasn’t able to go. The pictures of “Herbie” are a little graphic...mainly because of the swelling of his skull...which has gone done about 50% they said...and because of his missing eye.
