Poppy's Story
The loss of my dog Max was VERY hard for me,We rescued him when he was 2 and
had him till he was 13, He was the sweetest, smartest,Cutest Welsh Corgie. He
saw me through good times and bad and always knew when I needed him to stay a
little closer and cuddle. since his loss about 6 months ago,we have been
through a lot of life changes, including moving and having to rehome our two
precious kitties. I have been aching for a new furry friend to love and cuddle
for some time now but my ADULT brain kept telling me it was good to be free of
the responsibilities of a pet, but my heart just wouldn't let me forget about
the blessings a pet brings into your life….While chatting in small groups
during one of my online study groups a friend asked if I was still missing my
MAX and if I had considered getting another dog, we chatted about it for a few
minutes and then….HERE IT COMES.."Pam, I was wondering if you would consider
adopting my mom's
puppy?"……….Ummm……The details: Poppy is a 6lb, 7 month old, pure bred
chihuahua, completely spoiled and loves to do nothing but cuddle and play. He
is house broken, crate trained, up to date on his shots, and just an all around
good boy. She goes on to tell me that her mom was in a serious car accident
about a month ago and will no longer be able to care for him. She wants to know
if I would love him, she will give him to me with all of his belongings (
EVERYTHING any spoiled pup would need including a wardrobe LOL) I hesitate,
think about it, text Bert, talk to Taylor…..AGREED, we will meet and see how it
goes…well as you can see, Poppy is now our new furry family member, He's
everything I needed, he cuddles on my lap when I study, walks with me in the
day, loves to ride with me to pick up Tay and lays with me when we read or
watch TV at night. What can I say…as the famous quote goes "The heart wants
what the heart wants" and my Heart
needs the compainship of a furry friend named Poppy!!
