I could never put poison chemicals on my dogs. That is really disturbing.  
There are alternatives such as combing out the fleas or
bathing them.  If there are fleas in your yard you need to treat the lawn with 
a non poisonous insecticide such as Diatomaceous Earth. Please don't put poison 
on your dogs.
