Dog food bags want you to feed lots of food so not a good guide. I go by their
body condition, if fat feed less if skinny feed more. Add PURE pumpkin for good
filling fiber or green beans, baby carrots make a good low cal snack. Alice is
7 mos, 3.5lbs and eats about 1/2 cup of Pro Plan plus a piece of a large dog
biscuit. Active younger dogs eats lots more then couch potato oldsters too.
Everydog has a different metabolism too. My 2 MinPins are 15yrs/6.5lbs and
11yrs/5.5lbs and eat about the same as Alice. My very active 3 yrs/20lb German
pin eats 2 cups and 82lb almost 7 yrs old Dobe Axel eats 4 cups. Plus biscuit
snacks and Kong toys will food or treats.
