Most importantly she needs to get her dog to a Vet for an exam to make sure
she can deliver pups on her own. If she is only a week or two into her
pregnancy, then she can have her dog spayed and that will also abort the
pups, but only a good Vet can decide whether that is recommended or not when
he examines her.
If you decide to let her keep the pups, then you will need $$$$$ for vetting
the pups for an exam when they are born and for their first set of shots and
deworming, Plus it is very important to bring the mama to a vet after she
has her pups for an exam to make sure she has passed out all the pups and
afterbirths and can supply enough milk to feed the pups. Also consider big
$$$$$ for an emergency C-section which many chi's are known for. Lastly, if
she keeps the pups, she has to make sure she has good homes for them, and
that she is a responsible owner and has the mama and all the pups neutered
and spayed before she adopts them out, or else there will be a lot more pups
within the year that will need homes.

Why isn't your chi spayed? Is she a very small chi, or a very young chi that
you didn't spay her? If that's the case then you may be better off having
her spayed now and aborting the pups, or delivery could kill her. There is a
lot to consider here depending on the health and state of your dog. If she
is too young and or too tiny, and you want to gamble her life in having
puppies, then also be prepared that if she can't produce enough milk to feed
them, then you will have to hand feed them every 2 hours for the first
two-three weeks in order for them to survive.

Cindy , first of all what breed is the dog that bred yours ? Yours is a
chihuahua
Right ? If a chihuahua gets bred by a larger dog , then there could be
trouble . Dogs only need to " tie " once to get
pregnant . Chihuahuas usually have
1 - 4 pups but occasionally more . They are pregnant for about 2 months .
Anyone know how many days ?
