I tried looking at shelter pages before going out to any shelters. What I found was that quite a few shelters don't keep their pages up-to-date as often as they need to. Minnie was on a page that said updated within the hour. The next day it said the same thing. On the other hand, I can believe there would be close to 17,000 chi and chi mixes in SF. It's a large city with lots of people into fads. Chi's were a fad a few times, just as dalmatians were after he live action 101 Dalmatians came out.
