I am sorry you lost your chi. My Maltese had a major heart attack during the
night as well. Found her on the floor in her favorite spot in the morning.
Doesn't matter how they go, as long as it is fast and painless. Your chi I
am sure found comfort in being so close to you, and that counts for a lot.
Still miss those babies. But I find relief from my sorrow knowing that they
are happy and whole at the bridge waiting for me. All past pets are holes
in our hearts....every single one of them.

She was about 12/13 yrs. Hard to know for sure. Her heart stopped but was
recovered only to die that nite in my bed. It was horrible!

in the past always had at least 2 chis - and they do quite like each other.
At Pet Camp she plays with all the other Chis - as well as larger dogs.
Last year I lost one to epilepsy and another had a heart attack getting her
nails done at the Vets. thanks, Cheryl.

That's a hard one , Dianne . The only thing I can think of is another chi
to
keep her company . They do seem to
have a preference for other Chis .
I do know of calming herbs but their effect is kind of short term and I have
no idea if they are safe for dogs ,
You are at work all day ? Is there a friend she could stay with while you
are at work ?

you may remember I rescued Daisy - a chi from San Bernardino last year.
I am now also rehoming my daughter's dog, an older, epi - jack russell since
January 2013.
Daisy's separation anxiety - loud screeching when i leave for work in the am
has increased even with Leo at home. So i end up taking her to Pet Camp
where she has plenty of attention and play with other dogs. There is the
issue of cost for this.

I am considering some herbs or other remedies. The Thunder Shirt does not
work unfortunately

She is a sweetheart at home. On walks she becomes aggressive towards other
dogs so I go for avoidance as much as possible.

Would you have any suggestions. I have spoken to a vet to suggest treatment
 including acupunture.

My concern is how this impacts her health - if i am to ignore it but it's so
very hard to leave her and hear the screaming.
thanks very much
