I noticed improvement immediately, within 12 hrs. Coccidia is a protozoa 
parasite, plain soap and water will kill it. My pup isn't around the other dogs 
unless I'm holding her so that wasn't a concern. I can't remember now but it 
seems like the coccidia life cycle is rather complicated. You might go look it 
up. It seldom affects adult animals. I did bathe her with people shampoo but 
not because of the coccidia, just to bathe her. My girl is 9 1/2 wks now and 
1.5 lbs (25 ounces). We got a food scale at Walmart to weigh her with.
I put honey in my pup's water also when she was having problems, great minds 
think alike!
