Jens, thanks for the note...

Please use the option "starts with" and try one more time....The part
numbers AD7524 is not the complete part number. The suffix, which in AD's
case denotes the packaging is missing. There are 22 instances/line items
available through distributors who advertise their inventory. Very often
they can also provide some level of application engineering support (not all
of them)

Similarly, Beganto lists distributors (Yes contact information included) who
have available to sell inventory of 74HCT374 from fairchild semiconductor
Philips and RCA have an additional suffix on the part number

However, thanks for the feedback and the opportunity for a lil advertizing
(:-0, I probably should clarify it somewhere in the description. Our moto
remains.

If you like what Beganto does for you, refer us to someone...if not, tell us
what to fix!! ;-)

My 1992 Analog Devices databook lists this as 8-bit DAC with microprocessor
interface. Depending on the accuracy you need, you could replace it with a
circuit that contains a 74HCT374 for the register, and an R2R gate for a
cheap D-A conversion. An OpAmp on the output could do basic filtering.
It'll never reach the linearity of the original part, but it gets your
circuit running again for about two bucks (I assume you need a spare part?).

Also try the search option of www.kruse.de - they list more than 3900 units
of this thing, enough for a mass production. www.beganto.com does not list
them (although it calls itself "leading search engine" - they're working
hard :-)).
