it might be free, but it was easy to find a bug, so you would need to buy the upgrade version for $195 if you wanted it to work correctly. Makes me wonder if there isn't already a version 1.08 that fixes "issues" with the free version.
The first thing I tried to do was to add a PIC micro. The "wizard" is fine, but a family and a family group is required to create a new part. The online manual shows the MICRO family under the DIGITAL family group. The actual database has a seperate family group called MICROS and the only "family" categories underneath it is the ZILOG and the Rabbit. You could work around it by sticking any new micros in the either family, but that kind of bothers the engineer in me. The caveat "you get what you pay for" comes to mind. The database is Access so maybe someone could fix that database to add new families... A few other things... you can't search in help. There are no help topics in the search tab. They have a glossary tab, but no entries.
