-The expansion pin is only an input. If it is not connected to the output of
the previos stage, it must be grounded in order to get the "normal" gate
behaviour.

-Ka is the three-state control for the output.

-Be careful: For static operation, everything workes fine. But old C-MOS is
quite slow, and the connection of several gates via expand-input makes
things worse:
The inputs of the different stages have different propagation delay.
