Hi, I'm trying to repair a broken hifi system and I've fixed everything except the serial to parallel converter it contains. The chip is the NJU3718 made by the Japan Radio Company (JRC).
It's a 20 bit Serial to Parallel Converter in a 28pin SDIP operrating at 5Mhz+ data rates. I have the data sheet so I know all about what it does but I'm having difficulty obtaining one here in the UK. Does anyone know: a) Where I could get a NJU3718 in the UK? b) If there's a replacement I could use? (I'm not concerned about pin compatibility - just functionality). Does anyone ave any thoughts? If all else fails I'll have to do something with a microcontroller to drive the blown output pins...
