It is not clear to me what you mean with "The whole things operates 
around a bias of appr. -30V". To what reference is this -30 V 
measured? If this is the ground pin(s) of the MCU this is strange. Or 
is the totaal MCU -30V with respect to some other point? 

Normaly the -30V is handled by open collector (drain) circuits which 
can withstand this voltage. 

Based on your description I can not say more about this.
