start with the Stamp2 to get familiar with programming micro-controllers,
then, if you're feeling brave move onto programming PICs directly with
compiled code using PICBasic Pro (see www.melabs.com).

PICBasic Pro uses most of the commands from the Stamp repetoir plus many,
many more.

Once you've achieved that, move on to PIC C. CCS do a great C compiler for
PICs.

The Basic stamp is very popular, I'm sure an hour on the web will give you
massive results. There is also a very active mailing list for the Basic
Stamp listed on parallax's web site - it would be better to ask them. It's
like going into a Ford dealer and asking them to fix my Suski Sidekick.

are something else. This list isn't here to provide pirated software or
illegal copies of what is clearly a commercail product. The original poster
clearly asked for SPECIFIC items, "the Basic stamp 2 programming and
application tutorial or handbook". These are well known and readily
available items but they are commercail products that you're expected to pay
for. His goal was clearly to obtain them for nothing.

Perhaps this rubs me wrong since I am often guilty of asking dumb questions.
But then we can't all be geniuses.
